About IAC

The Indian Art & Culture Foundation (IAC) is a pioneering, independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to enriching the arts and cultural landscape of India. Established in Kerala in 1980 as a Public Charitable Trust, IAC has empowered creativity across the country through grants, research, education, and innovative projects that span disciplines and communities.

For over four decades, we have championed over 800 initiatives, supporting artists, educators, and researchers whose work has led to powerful expressions through books, films, performances, exhibitions, digital platforms, and more. These efforts have contributed to a richer, more inclusive cultural dialogue in India.

We believe that the arts are essential, not only as expressions of beauty and tradition, but as tools for social justice, critical inquiry, and community building. Through our programs, we challenge dominant narratives, amplify marginal voices, and encourage exploration that pushes the boundaries of knowledge and creative practice.

IAC’s programs include Arts Research, Arts Practice, Arts Education, Archives & Museums, and Art Projects that reflect our commitment to making the arts more accessible, relevant, and responsive to the times. Our physical and digital archive, outreach efforts, and partnerships with national and international bodies further strengthen our mission.

Recognized both in India and globally, IAC continues to serve as a catalyst for artistic innovation and cultural advocacy. We invite you to explore, engage, and be part of this enduring journey of creativity and change.

Founder’s Message

When we began this journey in 1980, our vision was simple yet profound, to make space for the arts to breathe, question, and connect. Over the decades, we’ve witnessed how creativity, when nurtured with purpose, can transform lives, communities, and the way we see the world. The Indian Art & Culture Foundation was born out of the belief that the arts are not a luxury—they are a necessity. They hold the power to challenge, to heal, and to build bridges where walls exist.

As we continue to grow, our commitment remains rooted in inclusion, innovation, and integrity. Together, with artists, educators, scholars, and supporters, we aim to shape a cultural landscape that is bold, diverse, and deeply human. I invite you to walk with us, create with us, and believe with us in the transformative power of art and culture.
